Twilight disaster

Waves of fluorescent light beam through the night
Rolling in and out, bringing my joy to a drought
Urban scenes sprawl before me in a droll
They stretch endlessly and soundly
My march is a crawl, my mind in a lull
No real destination among the urban terrain
Where's the love of a Penny lane
Somewhere new not this usual spew
Close my eyes focus on something new
It's so much easier like this
Shutting my eyes like blinds
Easy as a flick of the wrist
To tune out all of the blight
